Hey KonaCoffee,

Doing whats good for your children is making them confident enough to know that no one truly "FITS IN". The key to battling children (who can be the meanest of any species..lol) is to keep them confident in themselves, they wont compare themselves to others as much. Parents must instill in children thta there is a finesse about them as an individual like no other--ANYWHERE. Like I said to bottomoftheocean, each individual is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT so there is no use in trying to help your kid "fit in", the "cool kids/thin kids..whatever" will see so much confidence and such a carefree yet pleasant attitude in your child, that they'll try to be a part of your kids circle. Confidence is truly whats admirable, the looks are truly secondary.

Hello BottomoftheOcean. Having good self esteem can be an extremely tough job for some young women, especially if its something that your trying to build on. Because EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this earth is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, beauty--by right should be judged accordingly. Because it isnt uniquely beautiful, little women like you are pushed into the masses of slim/long-haired large-busted women. Even though I had low self esteem at one point and some times here and again, I use the things that make me so different and unique to help me feel better about myself. Just remember, if you don't have confidence, no one else can have it for you. You have to fight negativity, even if its coming from within.

Hey Fatou 28
I'm now 22 years old and just wanted to let you know I've been in the same place as you! Growing up I was always small chested and still am, and I was often made fun of for this, Everyone grows at their own pace and you may end up being bigger chested in a few years or you may not. It took me a while to be happy with the way I looked but eventually I learned that often it was great to be small chested! :) Sometimes its hard when your bigger chested you get back aches, and things don't fit as well. All of you is beautiful, I promise! It's all on your out look. These girls may be making fun of you, but try if you learn to love youself and be confident with who you are those girls will soon feel they are silly for making fun of someone who feels so sure of her self! I hope this helps a little.. I know how hard school can be... Just learn to love yourself you are beautiful, you were created the way you were on purpose!! :) Good luck!

Hey Izfad27!
I read your comment and my heart really goes out to you......I am in recovery from bulimia nervosa and have been anorexic too. I can understand your pain and frustration. I started having issues with my body when I went to boarding school in 10th grade. I now am almost 22 years old and am sick of fighting with my body. There are some serious long term effects of an eating disorder......I've seen what it has done to me and girls I was in treatment with.

The media is poisoning our minds with such trash.....they make being anorexic and bulimic cool...like a trend of some fashion line! Some advice.....don't keep all the anger and frustration in you....reach out for help! Reach out to your parents or other primary care takers and ask them to help you find a certified counselor in your area. It makes all the difference......you can't carry this burden alone.....no one wants you to. In this process, you will find out that you ARE WORTHY, BEAUTIFUL, and PERFECTLY IMPERFECT because you exist in this world...because you are made by God. I don't know your views on spirituality, but God was the one who REALLY helped me and continues helping me in my recovery.

I do not understand why girls/women think being skinny is what is attractive to society and men. I believe being healthy and fit for your specific body type is. I am a naturally thin woman and also very petite. I don't like it. I want to have boobs and curves and feel like a woman. I don't feel sexy like a woman. I feel like a child and I am an adult woman. I have friends that are not skinny but overweight (not obese) and they get way more attention from men than I do. But it is not because of their weight, skinny or not they have beautiful features, great skin, great hair, great facial features, and great confidence which I lack in very much.

Doesn't everyone want to look like a healthy person? Being skinny doesn't change the way you look or make you more beautiful. Thin and beauty are two separate things. You can't change your genectics, your body type, bone structure, features, height, or body frame size. Work on eating healthy, exercising, and good hygeine.

The beautiful bodies in the media do not come from eating disorders. They come from healthy eating, exercise routines, personal trainers, personal chefs, nutritionists, and most commonly- Genetics. Most of us do not have the time and money to have and do all this. Their are many celebrities who are not thin too but are fit for their body and look great.

I also think very young teenage girls think they are supposed to look like woman at their age. NO- you are still growing and your womanly body will naturally form as you get older. Please don't harm your bodies in their developing stages with unhealthy eating habits and lifestyles because it may have long term affects. Don't go by BMI charts and calorie intakes an what others think you should weigh. Your NATURAL weight you may think is too low or too high but it is designed specifically for you not someone else with the same height and build. Weight is not only determined by fat and muscle. Height, frame size and bone density play in. Our bodies also have different kinds of fats too that are determined by our genectics. They weigh out differently. A pound of fat on my body is not going to be the same size as a pound of fat from someone else's body.
